Hanging Red Dresses in Jubilee Park

April 26 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm MDT

You are invited to help hang red dresses to remember and honour the MMIWG2S People (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People) in Jubilee Park (50 Ave & 54 St).  The focus is on raising awareness about the disproportionately high rates of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirt, transgender, and gender-diverse people.  Red Dress Day, observed annually on May 5th, is a central part of this awareness effort.  This day uses red dresses to symbolize the missing and murdered Indigenous peoples and to encourage learning and action to address the violence they face.  The dresses along with fact sheets will be on display from April 26 to May 5.
