Since 2018, people in our diocese have raised funds through a coffee hour appeal every September, inviting individuals to give $5 to make a difference in the lives of many of our brothers and sisters living in Burundi. Every $5 allows a grandmother and all children in her care to access medical coverage for one year. This is the most desperate need identified by the Diocese of Buyé.
Our parish participated this September to raise funds for medical cards for our friends in Burundi. All money raised went directly to this worthy cause.
Last year, parishes in the Diocese of Edmonton raised $7,257 for the Diocese of Buyé to purchase medical cards. Sadly, this coverage is out of reach for most people living in the Diocese of Buyé.
