Red Dress Week And Remembering MMIWG2S

The Reconciliation Team of Immanuel hosted another Red Dress Week this year to remember and honour the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2-Spirit People.  Red dresses were on display in Jubilee Park (5409-50 Avenue) and at By The Lake Park (6128 - 56 Avenue) in Wetaskiwin, AB for one week along with information about MMIWG2S and how you can support actions to help end violence against women and to support those impacted by violence.  We hope that you were able to view one or both of those displays.

A ceremony of remembrance and awareness was held at the Peace Cairn in Wetaskiwin at 5:00 PM on May 5th, The National day of Awareness for MMIWG2S People.  This was an important act towards reconciliation and supporting the healing journey of so many who have been harmed.
